WHO Resolution on Behavioural Science for Better Health

Malaysia advocated the shift from a disease-oriented model to a person-centred wellness approach in which the government and society work together. This was in line with Malaysia's Health White Paper healthcare reform plan. In light with this, Malaysia’s aspiration to play a significant role in advocating behavioural sciences at the highest level has been recognized globally. Malaysia has proposed the resolution on behavioural sciences for better health. The proposal has been approved and adopted in the 152nd Executive Board by the World Health Organization in February 2023. The rationale for this resolution is to call for a more systematic application of behavioural science theory, procedures, and strategies in public health policies and initiatives.
