The Institute for Health Behavioural Research (IHBR) is one of the sixth Institute under the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Research and Technical Support Program, Ministry of Health Malaysia. IHBR was established in 2005, known as the Institute for Health Promotion (IPH) and was converted to IPTK in 2007. Conducting research in the areas of health behavior (especially qualitative research), training and consultancy services in the field of health promotion, health communication, and communication risk. The results help in improving health promotion programs through policies and activities to improve population health.
The Responsibilty
Developed the role of research on health and social sciences by increasing the modalities, training and consultancy research.
The Role
- Enhances capability and ability in research of health behavior and social science.
- Lead in qualitative method in health behavior and social sciences research.
- Strengthening scientific collaboration from other agencies to support the role and function of the organization.
- Develop research on health behavior for the purpose of monitoring the latest and future research.
- Support and reinforce the linkages of political cooperation and health development policies through the research results to generate national health policies
- Collaborate with UKM in conducting training for postgraduate health education / Masters of Health Sciences for New Appointment Information Officer and consultancy in the field of health promotion and behavior modifications.
- Strengthening the community and driving health system transformation in enabling healthcare
